Bio:

Lauren Ares, LMFT, is a strengths-based therapist who focuses on empowering individuals, couples, and families to enhance their inner resources and resilience in order to achieve therapeutic objectives. She specializes in helping clients recognize and reinforce their internal resources to address a range of issues, including mood disorders, life transitions, trauma, disruptive behavior, and relational challenges.

Lauren's therapeutic approach involves assisting clients in understanding and addressing intergenerational patterns, improving coping and relational skills, and developing effective emotional expression.

With a background in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Ecosystemic Family Therapy (ESFT), Lauren has extensive experience working with children and adults on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder and their families. Additionally, she is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective treatment for trauma and other distressing experiences.

Drawing on her diverse professional experience in hospital, in-home, and outpatient settings, Lauren is adept at supporting clients from diverse backgrounds in cultivating greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and a sense of belonging. Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University.
